How To Live A Good Life With Manifestation And Hard Work

This weeks post is brought to you by unpredictability. Subheading: There are no guarantees in life.

That’s always comforting to hear. Right? There are usually 2 ways that people interpret this. If you’re an optimist, you’re probably thinking ok cool, so much more can happen in my life! The possibilities are endless! If you’re not an optimist, you’re probably thinking, what’s the point of even trying hard if it’s not even going to matter? I have an argument that will make both sides of the spectrum think a little bit more about the response to this.

There are no guarantees in life. Let’s talk about that and how it relates to manifestation. I’m going to use the term manifestation, but you can feel free to use the term in your mind that you most closely relate to. Sometimes that word might be prayer, faith, hope, affirmation, law of attraction. All of these mean the same thing depending on your beliefs.

Manifestation is a huge trend right now. There is a lot of misleading information out there surrounding this. So many social media accounts post a positive affirmation and say “like this post to claim it and this will happen to you in 30 days!”. I’ll be honest, I’ve participated in some of those posts. It’s fun to create good energy around yourself and It’s great to imagine receiving something in life that you asked for. It helps to create a positive outlook on life. BUT… it doesn’t end there.

You can’t just ask for something and not think about it again still expecting for it to happen. You still have to do the work to help yourself to get yourself there! Your life won’t drastically change because you liked an instagram post, despite what some people want to believe.

Here’s an example of one time when I did participate in one of those posts. The post said “mark your calendar for 60 days from today and something amazing is going to happen to you”. I was like, sure, whatever. I’ll do it and see what happens. So on the 59th day, I got a calendar notification reminding me that what I had manifested was happening the next day. Well, I kind of shrugged it off and I fully expected it to just be something small that would brighten my day and may or may not be interpreted as part of the manifestation. No big deal, it was just fun to think about and get in the mindset for. That next morning, I ran into an old friend while getting coffee and she asked me what I was up to. I told her all about my meditation studio and the podcast and she said, you’re not going to believe this, but I’ve been looking for someone to partner with on this big project and you would be absolutely perfect for it! Long story short, after a fabulous 2-hour discussion, she signed the biggest client contract that I’ve ever done to-date. Manifestation accepted.

Let’s talk about this lesson here. Did the manifestation work? Yes it did. Did that interaction happen because of the manifestation? No it did not. Think about that for a second.

Knowing that I wanted something good to happen on that day helped me recognize the significance of the contract and that interaction. If I hadn’t manifested that, would it still have happened on that day? Yes, probably, I just wouldn’t have made such a big deal out of it and it woudn’t have been in the forefront of my mind. I fully believe that I was meant to run into her in that moment. But I only believe that because of all of the hard work I’d been doing in the background.

Engage With The Positive Energy

Like I said earlier, you can’t just ask for something to happen and then sit and wait for it to happen. You have to participate in your life. You have to push your life forward. YOU have to create your own change.

That manifestation came true because I’d been working day and night to build my business. I didn’t just sit on the sidelines hoping someone would approach me about working with me. I had been putting in the work to get me there. I was starting to feel run down and defeated, but I truly believed in what I was doing and so when she asked me what I was up to, I was so excited and passionate about my story that the idea sold itself. What the manifestation provided me was hope that something good was going to come out of all of my hard work. It helped me celebrate it when it did actually happen.

What the manifestation provided me was hope that something good was going to come out of all of my hard word.

So no, the manifestation didn’t create my good luck. I created my good luck. The prayer did not create your good fortune. You created your good fortune. The prayer was just there to support you along the way by giving you hope.

The same thing goes for mindset, mental health, trauma, and healing. When we just want the hardships to end, we’re willing sell our soul for some good news sometimes. You can’t just say a positive affirmation like “I am successful. I am confident. I am powerful”, and wake up the next morning and be all of those things. It takes a while to engrain those in your mind and actually believe them. That’s the big word. Believing in them. Believe in yourself.

It also isn’t helpful if you’re having a hard time and someone says “it’s all going to be ok, don’t worry about it”. Is it going to be ok? How do you know? We just said there are no guarantees in life. We can’t promise that it’s going to just magically be ok. You have to put in the work to make it ok for yourself in the future. You have to change your mindset. You have to be hopeful. You have to look toward the future and whatever that may look like, and be willing to accept that the future might look different.

I’d like to think that’s why we are all here right now, on this blog. We are all putting in the work to create a better life for ourselves. Yay us!

Create A Mindset Shift

So, going back to the very beginning. There are no guarantees in life. If you were the optimist thinking ok great, good things are going to happen to me. You need to remember that you can’t jus claim it and then sit around waiting for it to happen. You have to make it happen with continued positive energy surrounding those thoughts. If you weren’t the optimist in the beginning and thought ok great, what’s even the point then, I want you to remember that your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed. You just need to be prepared to open your eyes and not overlook the good things when they actually do happen. So often we’re dismissive of good things because it wasn’t what we pictured it’d be like, or there’s so much else we still have to do. Celebrate the little successes and you will begin to notice more of them.

That’s your mindful action for this week! I want you to notice when you are a little bit more hopeful and optimistic, and then try to more to those feelings. Why are you feeling excited and hopeful? Is it because of the energy and the people surrounding it? Is it because of a sense of accomplishment? Notice the things that lift you up and celebrate them. As the week goes on, see if you start to notice more of those things. The more you focus on the good things, the more good things you will notice in your life. It’s not that more good things are happening in your life, it’s just that you’re beginning to see and appreciate them more. Like I said. The manifestation is there to support you along the way. It’s not going to create the good things out of thin air. It’s going to support you in reaching your goals.

So, the meditation for today will be focusing on positive affirmations. The more you recite them to yourself, the more you will begin to believe them.

Positive Affirmation Meditation

[Meditation Script]

This meditation is a positive affirmation meditation. We will practice listening, breathing, and believing. Listen to it as many times as you need to and take these affirmations with you throughout the week. I will not end the meditation for you today. I want you to sit with these affirmations and slowly come out of the meditation when you are ready. Listen to your mind and body. The music will play for 3 minutes after the affirmations have ended.

Sit grounded in a chair, on the floor, on a cushion, or in your bed. Gently close your eyes or have a soft gaze down. Palms facing up ready to receive the positive energy.

Deep breath in through your nose, and out through your mouth. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Continue to breath on your own.

I am peaceful, I am calm, I am present, I am happy.

I am getting better at meditation.
I can find time for myself and my needs.
I am peaceful when I meditation.
My breath is slow and nurturing.

I am peaceful, I am calm, I am present, I am happy.

I am strong and powerful.
I am guided towards positive things.
I notice the good things in my life.
I release tension and anxiety.

I am peaceful, I am calm, I am present, I am happy.

I show up for my life.
I am active and participate in my life.
Every day is a new beginning.
I am surrounded by positive energy.

I am peaceful, I am calm, I am present, I am happy.
