How to Reduce Stress Quickly With Mindfulness

As we enter the new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our mindset. Think about how you can improve your motivation and stress management skills. One of the journal prompts I talk about on the podcast this week is remembering moments of joy. Write down the moments of joy and happiness you had this past year. Then see if you can find a pattern or trend in those moments.

Self-Awareness: Regain Control In Your Life

It’s important to remember that our mindset plays a huge role in determining our success and happiness. If we believe we can achieve our goals and handle challenges that come our way, we are much more likely to do so. A negative mindset can hold us back and make even the simplest tasks seem insurmountable. Let’s avoid that!

That’s why I’m here for you every step of the way! For the good times and the bad times. We’ll work through it together. I’m here to help you navigate the ups and downs of life. You can build your internal toolset to handle situations that come your way if you follow mindfulness strategies. One of the most beneficial things you can learn about yourself are the natural responses your mind and body hav to certain triggers. To be more self-aware to notice when these triggers are happening is top priority.

Then the next step in your healing and growth process is to simply realize when you’re handing something better now than you would have in the past. That is proof of your own personal growth journey right. That is proof that what you’re doing is working. No, it will never be an immediate fix, but take it one step at a time. Small steps will create big change in your life.

Action vs Intention

As the new year begins, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the importance of acting with intention and living with purpose. And, guess what, that’s the official new mantra of Mindful Actions.

Do you think that’s something we can do together to make our lives better and to make the world a better place? Act with intention, live with purpose? I say, challenge accepted!

I believe that acting with intention and living with purpose can bring a number of benefits to light. Increased productivity, greater satisfaction and fulfillment, and a stronger sense of purpose and direction in life just to name a few!

As we enter the new year, I encourage you to take small, practical steps towards acting with intention and living with purpose. This could include setting aside time for self-reflection, identifying your values and goals, and developing a plan for achieving those goals.

How to beat stress and overwhelm quickly

Before we go, I want to remind you of these simple steps you can take to relieve stress quickly. These are great tools you can take with you forever. Practice them any time you start to feel overwhelmed.

  1. Validate your feelings and reassure with positive self-talk. — Know that this is only temporary and you can get through this.
  2. Slow your breathing and take a few deep breaths
  3. Move to a different setting. — move to a different room, get up and stretch, get a drink of water, or step outside, etc.

By doing these 3 things, you’re giving your mind and body time to pause, focus on something else, and reset so you can think more clearly and calmly. I talk about this on Instagram this week too if you want some more insight.

Which of these 3 steps do you think will be most beneficial to you?

I hope this new year brings you joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. Here’s to a year of acting with intention and living with purpose!
