About Beth

Higher ed, social media marketing, reading, and the outdoors are my thing. If I’m not here I’m hiking, golfing, paddleboarding, kayaking, drinking coffee, or reading a book. Oh, and I have purple hair, it it was one of the absolute best decisions I’ve made in my entire life.

I challenge myself as a professional, and social media influencer, to advocate for lifelong learning, building purposeful relationships, and our social responsibility to model digital citizenship through leadership and civility. I identify myself as an early adapter of tech trends, and am a firm believer that through engagement and pedagogy, technology and social media have the power to change the world.

“Education is the most powerful weapon
which you can use to change the world.”
Nelson Mandela

I have presented at AACTE and Google for Education on creating social media strategic plans in higher education. And I presented at NASPA  on creating student-centered online orientation programs. Throughout 2016, I worked on a team of colleagues from The Patton College on a collaborative project titled “Enhancing Your Career Search by Developing Your Personal Brand through Social Media” that won 2nd place in the 2016 Rutherford Teaching Challenge from the International Textile and Apparel Association (ITAA).

My dogs name is Bogey, and I’m pretty sure he is the happiest creature on the face of this earth. He is a true social butterfly, and wants to meet anybody, and everything, he comes across. You may see him pop up on the site from time to time, because, why not?

I have an active lifestyle and love spending time outdoors. Give me a kayak, golf clubs, hiking shoes, or paddle board, and I’m happy to lead the way. Fresh air and coffee keep me energized, and my dog keeps me focused on being present to enjoy life as it happens.
